Jorge Oceja and Júlia Vilasís presented Playcomp at the VI IRIE (Institut de Recerca i Innovació Educativa) Conference , held on November 7 and 8, 2025 at the UIB.
During the session, independent video games were championed as products with cultural and social value that serve as a medium with educational potential. Furthermore, the key aspects of the project, its underlying theoretical foundations, and the team’s methodology were presented. Along the same lines, the video game selection process, carried out during the 1st Playcomp Workshop, was also highlighted .
These conferences are a proposal for the main stakeholders in the Balearic Islands’ education sector to meet. They represent the consolidation of a biennial event that facilitates gatherings of teachers from all educational levels and offers doctoral students the opportunity to present their work.
